Mechanical Problems End Donley’s Night
Jerame Donley and his family’s Donley Motorsports team made the trip to South Boston Speedway on Saturday for the Strutmaster.com 150. Unfortunately the trouble started right off the team’s hauler.
As soon as the car was unloaded Saturday morning at the speedway the team noticed they were having clutch problems. Without the spare parts onboard the hauler, Jerame and the team spent all of the afternoons practice sessions waiting for parts to arrive. Jerame’s first laps of the day were during qualifying, where he laid down a lap of 16.13 seconds, putting the LJM Machine Co. Inc., Pontiac Grand Prix 10th on the starting grid.
As the race got under way the track got slick and the handling of the #5 machine kept getting worse. With 40 laps remaining in the 150-lap event, Jerame pulled the LJM Machine Co. Inc. Grand Prix down pit road with a second set of clutch problems. A bad day turned into a bad night and the #5 Donley Motorsports machine recorded a 14th place finish.
Donley Motorsports and driver Jerame Donley will return to Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Virginia this Saturday night for the NASCAR DODGE Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car 100. Keep your eye on JerameDonley.com for the latest news on Jerame Donley and the Donley Motorsports team.
