Donley; ‘Would like to advance up the NASCAR ladder’

"Overall 2006 was a good year,” commented twenty-year old Jerame Donley after completing his 31st and final race of the season. Jerame continued, “We didn't have as many wins as we had anticipated, but feel like we ran competitive everywhere we went. Hopefully we can build off of what we learned and come out really strong in 2007.” Jerame and his family’s Donley Motorsports team were definitely competitive in 2006; let’s reflect.

‘Overall 2006 was a good year’ may be an understatement from the youngster out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Jerame and the team started off the ’06 season just like any team hopes to, in victory lane. 31 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series starts, 22 top-ten’s, 12 top-five’s, 8 top-three’s, 2 poles, and 2 wins highlighted the season. Jerame finished all but two races, crossed the finish line in the top-ten 71 percent of the time, and competed at six different race tracks in three different states. Competitive to say the least.

After a good year in 2006, Jerame Donley is ready to move on up, if he was offered the chance. “We would like to advance up the NASCAR ladder, but those opportunities are hard to come by,” said Jerame earlier this week. So, until that chance comes along he’ll take on the southeast’s toughest short tracks again in 2007, “therefore, we will continue to compete in the [NASCAR Weekly] Late Model Series and get more experience under our belts."

The entire #5 Donley Motorsports team looks forward to the 2007 race season at Motor Mile Speedway with an increased purse and an increased competition level. So here’s to a great 2006-race season and an even better 2007.

Happy Holidays from Jerame Donley and the entire Donley Motorsports team!
