FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | May 15, 2007 Donley Bounces Back First a blown engine, then a wrecked race car, but never once did Jerame Donley or anyone on his family’s Donley Motorsports team get down and give up. With a rough go in there first two weekends at Motor Mile Speedway, Jerame Donley and team headed back to the Radford, Virginia speed plant for the Star Country/Toyota 150 this past Saturday night. Fast through practice, Jerame was confident going into his two qualifying laps. Turning a fast lap of 15.867 around the 4/10ths mile oval, Jerame held the provisional pole until late into qualifying when Tommy Lemons, Jr. turned a 15.823, putting Jerame to the outside pole for the 150 lap event. The race got under way and quickly Jerame jumped to the outside and powered by Lemons through turn two. With pressure from Tink Reedy, Jerame committed to his line and despite several hard charges by Reedy late in the race he pulled away on the final restart and won his first race of the 2007 season. Jerame led all 150 laps in route to his third career victory at Motor Mile Speedway. "The car ran perfect. After the bad luck we've had the last two races here, all I wanted to do was finish the race. To be sitting in victory lane is pretty awesome. I want to thank my Dad (Craig), my crew chief (Mike Jewell) and my brother (Cory) who worked extra hard these past two weeks to get the car prepared," commented Jerame in victory lane. Donley and his team hope to keep the momentum rolling and the bad luck behind them as they fight back from the tough start to the season. Before getting back behind the wheel of his family’s Late Mode Stock Car on May 26th, Jerame will be finishing his Junior year in Mechanical Engineering at UNC-Charlotte as he will be traveling to Detroit, Michigan to represent UNC-Charlotte in the Formula SAE International Design Competition. Over 140 engineering college teams (worldwide) will be competing as they design, build, and ultimately race an open wheel, formula style race car.
