Donley Racing Through Summer Months

Racing hasn’t stopped for twenty-one year old Jerame Donley as he continues to race through the summer months at Motor Mile Speedway with his family’s Donley Motorsports, LJM Machine #5 Grand Prix. A second-place finish in the Bailey’s 200 July 3rd proved his best run over the past month of racing.

After starting 9th in the prestigious Bailey’s 200 at South Boston Speedway Jerame spent little time moving to the front. By the break at lap 150 Jerame had moved into the fifth position and was content on continuing his climb towards the top. After getting fresh tires at a lap 150 break, Jerame continued his march, and by lap 160 he worked his way into second place behind race leader Adam Barker. Donley continued after the race leader; but with just 40-laps remaining he was unable to hunt Barker down for the top spot before the checkered flag flew.

After a strong run the night before, Jerame competed on July 4th in the Rusty Harpe Memorial 150 at Caraway Speedway. Fast through practice, Jerame was excited to take his #5 LJM Machine Pontiac through qualifying. Unfortunately, a poor qualifying run sent Jerame to the back and relegated him to a 32nd place starting spot. Quickly Donley showed his talent again, fighting through traffic, caution flags, and a talented field to finish in the 10th spot.

Donley and his team have worked hard over the past several weeks, preparing cars and preparing for the final push at the 2007 race season. "We have had our ups and downs the last few weeks, but hopefully we can turn things around for the later part of the season. We are looking at going to Bristol for the UARA race on July 28th and possibly the August 11th race. I am very excited about that opportunity, but sponsorship would definitely come in handy,” commented Jerame recently regarding the final portion of 2007 season.
