Another Strong Run for Donley

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Jerame Donley continues to ride the wave of a fantastic start to his 2008 race season after posting another strong second place finish at Motor Mile Speedway this past weekend.
After a mechanical failure last week, Donley bounced back strong, qualifying third, just six thousands of a second off pole sitter Phillip Morris. At the drop of the flag Donley surrendered the third position to Davin Sites as a battle between the top four cars began to unfold.
As Sites and the second place car of Forrest Reynolds battled hard for position, Jerame grew increasingly patient, waiting for the opportune time to make his move. On lap 48 it paid off, as Jerame was making a move the two cars in front tangled and Jerame avoided contact and moved into the second position. Despite a good car for the Donley Motorsports team, Jerame just didn’t have enough to make a run on the ever strong Phillip Morris. "We actually had a better car this week than we did when we lost (by inches) to Phillip earlier this month,” said Jerame after crossing the finish line in second. “I'll take it and we'll move on to the next race.”
“To have two 2nd place finishes out of the three races that we have run isn't bad. Last week we just had a bad finish due to equipment failure. We just need to find that little extra to put us ahead at the end. I'm real excited about Martinsville this year with the way this car has performed thus far." And Jerame has reason to be excited, in his four starts this season, besides a mechanical failure two weeks ago; Jerame has not finished worse than second.
Cory Donley also competed this past weekend in the Limited Sportsman division, racing to a third place finish after qualifying fifth in his Donley Motorsports machine.
The Donley brothers will be back in action this weekend at Motor Miles Speedway for their last event until the Bailey’s 300 at Martinsville later this month.
