Donley 2nd in NASCAR WHELEN All-American Virginia State Series

WINSTON SALEM, NC – Despite not posting the finishes Donley Motorsports has expected, Jerame Donley and his family’s team have remained positive and currently sit second in the NASCAR WHELEN All-American Virginia State Series and 32nd in the National Series.

During a six week stretch from July to September, Jerame and his #5 LJM Machine Grand Prix struggled. In nine starts the team posted 8 top-ten’s and just two top-five’s; fantastic for some teams, but for Jerame it made for long nights. "Our finishes haven't been as good as we would have liked for them to be recently, but we hope to have things headed in the right direction going into the big races at the end of the year. The competition level is so tough in the Late Model series right now, but that only adds more determination to doing our best and beating the best in the end," commented Jerame in early September.

That determination seems to be making headway. Last Saturday night Jerame and his family’s team unloaded at Motor Mile Speedway for a 150-lap event and put their machine 7th on the starting grid. It was certainly a start for the team. Jerame patiently worked his way to the 4th position before falling back to 5th as Davin Sites made a late race charge. Jerame continued to work his car, running in the top-five. Donley then made a late race charge himself during a green, white, checkered finish but came up ½ car length short for the 4th position.

The 5th place finish may not have been what Jerame and the team were hoping for but Jerame knows how much of a gain they have made, “we are still working on race setup for the long runs. We are just hoping to build on this and gain more in the next few weeks before the big races,” commented Donley.

Jerame and Donley Motorsports will be back in action this Saturday for the final event of the season at Motor Mile Speedway where they currently sit 5th in the point standings. Jerame will then be back at South Boston Speedway on September 22nd in Bob Unzscar’s #22. Donley Motorsports is currently seeking sponsorship for the Bailey’s 300 at Martinsville Speedway and for the season ending races at South Boston, Myrtle Beach, and Southern National.
