Two Top-10’s for Donley; 3rd in Virginia NWAAS Title
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | October 1, 2007
WINSTON SALEM, NC – Jerame Donley and the Donley Motorsports team have worked hard all season long despite several unfortunate races. Jerame finished with two solid top-ten’s in the final two NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series races for the 2007 season. The two runs put Jerame into the 3rd position in the final NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series championship standings for the Virginia state region.

On September 15th Jerame qualified his #5 LJM Machine Monte Carlo on the inside of row number three for the season finale at the Motor Mile Speedway. On the green flag a rocky start by the 3rd place car forced Jerame back to the 7th spot. Jerame would ride with a loose car until lap 32 when his machine spun around in turn two; luckily no damage followed. Jerame was sent to the rear of the 26 car field and in fine fashion worked his way back to the 5th position. As the third and fourth place cars battled it out, Jerame rode patiently, waiting to make his move. On lap 144 the third and fourth place cars made contact and as Jerame moved to the bottom they collected the LJM Machine Monte Carlo. With front end damage Jerame came down pit road to the attention of the Donley Motorsports crew. After making repairs Jerame was able to return to the track and finish in the10th position.

One week later Jerame and the team ventured to South Boston Speedway in an effort to move up in the NWAAS Virginia region standings. After returning from practice at Martinsville Speedway for the Bailey’s 300 on Wednesday night the team started work on Corey Donley’s (Jerame’s brother) family owned Limited Sportsman car in order to convert it over for Late Model Sportsman competition, saving Jerame's main #5 car for Martinsville. The team headed to South Boston for practice Friday night and was pleased with the car. Saturday brought another round of practice and a 5th place qualifying effort. The race started well for Jerame but as the laps clicked off the car started to fade, and delegated him and the entire team to a 7th place finish.

All the work the team put in paid off; moving Jerame from 4th in the Virginia region standings to 3rd on the final rundown for the 2007 NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series Virginia title.
